How I Cleared Up my Hormonal Pregnancy Acne| My Pregnant Skincare Routine

I am obsessed with trying out skincare and recently with me being pregnant, I have been trying out new products.
During my first trimester, I suffered from horrible cystic acne and scaring that I have thankfully improved and gotten rid of.
Keep reading to find out what products I swear by and please keep in mind, if you have a question about using a product while pregnant, don’t hesitate to reach out to your doctor for their opinion.
Here is a little background on my skin: I had clear skin until Freshman year of College when I started having moderate acne on my chin and cheeks. These were very painful and under the skin and left giant scars on my face. I went on Proactiv which I stayed on for the next 9 years. I highly recommend Proactiv to get rid of cystic acne but I wasn’t able to be on it while pregnant so I had to find other products to use. During my first trimester the mix of hormonal changes, coming off of birth control, and coming off of Proactiv really messed with my skin. I got horrible cystic acne on my chin and cheeks that left huge red scars. This left me not feeling very great about myself in a time in my life when people were supposed to be telling me “You are Glowing!”. By the time I headed into my 2nd trimester I found the products that helped to clear my skin and heal my acne marks. I am sharing my daytime and nighttime routine below along with links to the specific products.
Daytime:
Cleanser: Neutrogena Naturals Purifying Pore Scrub. This product is a very natural and gentle on the skin. It has natural salycilic acid that helped to clear up my skin and keep it clear without irritation. It also doesn’t contain any harsh chemicals, parabens, or dyes which I prefer when I am pregnant.
Toner: Mario Badescu Special Cleansing Lotion C I have oily acne prone skin and this toner has been amazing at balancing my skin without drying it out. The bottle is giant and has lasted me months. I like that it also helps to remove build up that clogs pores and causes acne.
Treatment: Murad InvisiScar Resurfacing Treatment Since my acne was deep and large, the pimples left behind deep red scars that made it look like I still had active breakouts. I have been using this product during the day and love that it instantly smooths and primes my skin for makeup, and has also been helping to lighten my marks.
Moisturizer: Murad Oil and Pore Control Mattifier Broad Spectrum SPF 45 PA++++ I am a big advocate for SPF during the day so I am always looking for a moisturizer that has it. I like this one because it controls my oil but isn’t heavy or greasy feeling. A Win Win in my Book !
Nightime:
Makeup Remover: Murad Prebiotic 4-In-1 MultiCleanser. I never go to bed with makeup on because not only do I not want to get makeup all over my sheets and pillows but it is very bad for the skin. I love this makeup remover because it is gentle on the skin, removes eye makeup, and also removes face makeup. It doesn’t dry out my skin and makes it feel so clean.
Cleanser: Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser. This Cleanser is super gentle and lasts forever. You only need 1 pump and it helps to remove excess oil but doesn’t leave my skin feeling dry and tight. Cetaphil is great for all skin types and perfect for sensitive skin especially.
Tool: Clarisonic Mia Prima Sonic Facial Cleansing System. I love using my Clarisonic with the Cetaphil Cleanser. Because the cleanser is so gentle, my Clarizonic helps to remove any extra dead skin, makeup and oil without being too harsh. I love the Clarisonic because you can customize the head to your skin type. I like to use the sensitive skin one but they also have attachments for acne, body, normal, and many more. I also love that it vibrates to let you know when to move the device to a different part of your face. I have had mine for 2 years and it has been worth the investment. My skin has less blackheads and just always feels clean and fresh.
Toner: Murad Replenishing Multi-Acid Peel. I love this toner for night time because it is gentle but effective at helping to renew your skin. It uses AHA/BHA/TXA blend to exfoliate, renew, nourish, and brighten but also doesn’t dry out my skin or cause any redness or irritation. I noticed my pores being less clogged once I started using this and my skin just feeling more balanced as well.
Treatment: The Ordinary Lactic Acid 10% + HA 2%. The Ordinary is my favorite affordable skincare brand. I love using this Lactic Acid at night to help exfoliate my skin even more, and reduce inflammation. This compares to a $100 lactic Acid treatment that is very popular and for less than $10 a bottle this stuff is a steal! I use this 3-4 times a week and love it.
Moisturizer: First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream Pink Grapefruit. This moisturizer comes in a large jar and is amazing! I get the Grapefruit scent because I love Grapefruit but they also have other scents. This moisturizer is great for all skin types, and I love that it sinks in quickly and doesn’t feel heavy on my oily skin. It also be used on the body which is great.
Serum: The Ordinary 100% Organic Cold Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil .Another product that is affordable from The Ordinary is their Rose Hip Seed Oil. Because I had moderate and cystic acne and my skin marks very easily, I read that Rose Hip Oil can help fade the marks. It is organic and because it is an oil it can be a bit heavier so I recommend pressing it into the skin and waiting at least an hour before laying in bed that way it sinks into your skin and not into your pillow. I have noticed a dramatic decrease in marks since using this product and love how it helps to moisturize my skin. When I use this I skin my moisturizer since I don’t need all the extra moisture.
Eye Cream: IT COSMETICS Bye Bye Under Eye Brightening Eye Cream. I think eye cream is super important no matter your age. I am 27 and started using eye cream when I was about 24. I use it as a preventative treatment and since I wear makeup and rub my eyes alot, I find that a good eye cream makes the delicate area around my eyes feel so much better. I also have allergies that makeup my eyes puffy sometimes and since using eye cream consistently I have noticed a dramatic decrease in the puffiness. This eye cream feels so nice but not overly thick. I don’t like super thick eye creams because they can clog the pores around my eyes. This one is a gel like consistency and sinks in quickly.

Tips and Tricks for Dyeing Hair for the First Time| HAIR PRODUCT GIVEAWAY!!

Today I wanted to share with you my journey into dyeing my hair for the first time! I will be giving you some tips and tricks to preparing and maintaining your hair as well as sharing some of my favorite products in a GIVEAWAY! As a 25 year old woman, I have never dyed my hair before. I have naturally medium brown straight hair that gets highlighted by the sun in the summer and is always kept long and healthy by using minimal heat and styling. I am very low maintenance when it comes to my hair just because I have no skills in how to do it and I grew up playing sports so 9 times out of 10 it was in a ponytail. I had always thought about dyeing it but since I only get my haircut once a year I thought it would be too high maintenance and didn’t know much about the process.
This is where Dena from Studio Palmieri in Cleveland Ohio stepped in. If you live in the Northeast Ohio Area I HIGHLY recommend seeing her! She is a color specialist there and was a pleasure to work with throughout the entire process. I will get more into the process in a second but I wanted to share some tips on how I prepared for my visit.
I was reading up on the subject as well as talking to Dena and as someone who likes to come prepared I wanted to make sure I made the process easy and enjoyable for both myself and my stylist Dena. We both thought that since I had never dyed my hair that Balayage would be a great way for me to get the look I wanted that would also fit my low maintenance lifestyle. Since I wanted to keep my natural root color, I searched around online for women with hair color that matched my natural color and saw all the different Balayage options there were. There was every option from silvery bleached ends to caramel and red! I was a bit overwhelmed so I took a screen shot of 3 of my favorite looks and brought them to Dena. I knew I wanted to brighten up with a bit of blonde so I talked to Dena and we decided on beautiful sun kissed Balayage that looks like I returned from a Hawaii vacation!
Another thing I recommend is to prepare your hair before you visit. In order to help your stylist visualize the look easily, I recommend going with clean hair that you washed the night before and not adding any extra products unless you need them. I also recommend going into the salon with your hair parted where you usually part it and styled how you wear it most often. For me, this is a side part over my right eye and straight. This helps you both be on the same page with how the end result will look.
Once we established the look Dena got to work! She went ahead and painted and foiled my hair and let me know what was happening every part of the way. She said that virgin hair like mine is a bit easier to dye because the dye takes better and doesn’t have to sit on the hair as long. This is good because the shorter dye is on the hair the less damage that will occur. Once the process was done I got shampooed, blown out and my hair trimmed to perfection! I couldn’t believe my eyes! Just having my ends lightened made my skin light up! I felt like I looked fresh, energized, and my hair looked and felt so healthy! Some of my friends warned me that my hair wouldn’t feel the same after dyeing but I disagreed. I think it feels just as healthy if not smoother and silkier!
Although my transformation wasn’t as dramatic as some peoples are when they dye their hair, I loved that Dena listened to me and understood that I wanted a beautiful naturally sun kissed looked and I couldn’t have asked for anything better!
As for after dyeing maintenance I HIGHLY recommend getting the Deep Conditioning Protein Treatment from Natural Healthy Hair. This is an intense treatment that is different from a normal hair mask because it is more potent. It should only be applied every 3-4 weeks and should be used with the shower cap provided to allow maximum penetration. This treatment uses protein to strength the strands and keep color from fading.
Another product I use is the Beautifying Anti-Frizz Lustri Serum also from Natural Healthy Hair. I use this serum right out of the shower on damp hair to help fight frizz and repair and prevent damage. I also use a bit on the ends when my hair is dry and styled to help bring out the shine and make it silky and smooth. Sephora Theme: Step it Up

The first item I pulled out was the Make Up For Ever XL Eye Pencil Waterproof Eyeliner in Matte Black. This is such a creamy pigmented formula. I use this on my upper water line. I have super bad allergies and constantly am sneezing and have watery eyes. This means that my eyeliner usually transfers from the top to the bottom. I can never seem to find one that doesn't transfer. This one unfortunatly does transfer a little but isn't too bad. I reccommend this formula because it is smooth and creamy and is waterproof. The next item I received was the Sephora Collection Waterproof eye makeup remover. This is a remover that is supposed to be hydrating, and also can be used on face and eye makeup. Before using you must shake to activate the formula. I used this on my eyemakeup but not my face makeup. I put some of this on my cotton ball and wiped my eyes. It took about 2 cotton balls per eye to completley remove. It didn't sting or irritate which was nice. I recommend trying this out! Check it out HERE.
Next I received 2 samples of the Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare Ferulic + Retinol Wrinkle Recoery Peel. This is a peel that is good for uneven skin tone, wrinkles, aging, and lack of firmneess. After cleansing you are supposed rub this on dry skin. I like that they sent 2 of these. I have never tried a peel in this form before. I haven't tried it yet but am excited to do so! The next item I pulled out is a sample of the Iconic Photo Finish Foundation Primer from Smashbox. This is actually the first product that Smashbox ever created which is awesome. This primer is supposed to go on smooth, fill in fine lines, and help shrink enlarged pores. I actually don't really like this primer. It's not bad but not good at the same time. It is a little too slippery for my taste and doesn't really do anything for my oily skin. I think if you had normal or maybe dryer skin you would really like this! Check it out HERE.
Next I pulled out the Fresh Vitamin Nectar Vibrancy Boosting Face Mask. This samples size is super great and I love this mask! This mask is supposed to provide and instant glow and help out with uneven texture and skin tone. I really like this because it makes my skin super smooth. I haven't tried it enough to see if it helps with uneven skin tone but I hope I see results soon. I HIGHLY reccomend checking it out HERE.
The fragrance this month is Pinrose Secret Genius. This perfume is a blend of madagascar vanilla, and carmamel. This smells super warm, inviting, and soft and seems like more of a fall or winter scent. Even though I like the way this smells, it smells like a generic vanilla bodyspray. If you are a huge fan of vanilla scents I would recommend checking this out HERE.

The first product I received was the Cargo Cosmetics Around the World Eye shadow Palette that retails for $34! The shadows are a mix of some being highly pigmented and some being more chalky. I found that the lighter shades didn’t show up very well on me and seem a bit powdery. The deeper shades are highly pigmented and super smooth. Overall I think this is a decent palette for the price. If you are a fan of neutrals I say check it out HERE. See swatches below.
The next product I pulled out was The BrowGal Convertible Powder to Pomade Universal Eyebrow Palette which retails for $35. This palette has 3 shades inside ranging from dark to light. I use the lightest one on my brows. I like that they sent this because I feel like everyone's brow color is covered and you can mix and match the shades for a custom look. You can use this product dry as a powder or get it wet to turn it into a pomade. I haven’t tried it wet yet but will give it a try! The color payoff is there but it isn’t too intense. It leaves such a soft natural look and a little goes along way. Check out my brow photo below! Next up is the NYX Bright Idea Illuminating Stick in Rose Petal which retails for $8. This is a cream formula that is a very pigmented coral pink color with slight shimmer in it. It can be applied right on the cheeks and it blends out and sets into a powder. The color is intense so a little goes along way. Because I have oily skin I personally am scared of cream products over my foundation. I can never seem to blend them out without disturbing my foundation or they stain my skin and don’t look right. Although this is a pretty formula I am going to pass this along to someone who has more skills than me and will use it more. Check it out HERE. See swatches below.
I also received a Dirty Little Secret Velvet Matte Liquid Lipstick in the color Rush which retails for $14. This is a beautiful formula that is opaque in 1 coat and lasts all day through light eating and drinking! It doesn’t dry out the lips and is super comfortable. The packaging is a cute white polka dotted container and the applicator is precise enough to give a crisp line. Check it out HERE. See swatch below and in previous brow picture.
Next up was a pack of the Garnier Micellar makeup removing towelettes valued at $6. The only time I use makeup removing wipes is to either remove hand swatches, remove lipstick when I get home, or remove my makeup before the gym. I like these because they seem to do a great job at breaking down my makeup quickly and don’t seem to leave a residue behind. I also like that they are fragrance free! Check them out HERE.
I received a Luxie 516 Duo Fiber brush valued at $22 this month. I have quite a collection of Luxie brushes now thanks to my various subscription services. This brush is vegan and is supposed to be used to blend out powders. I used it to blend out the NYX check product and it worked OK. I wish it was a bit denser but it got the job done. I also received the IBY Beauty Mineral Pressed Blush in the color Peach Sheen valued at $14. This is a beautiful coral peach color with a gorgeous gold/champagne shimmer throughout. I have noticed the latest trend in check products is highlighter/blush combos. I don’t normally wear blush but I do really like this color and formula! It has great color payoff but isn’t too intense so it is build able. It can also be used as an eye shadow! I also heard it is a close dupe of the NARS orgasm blush. Check it out HERE. Next I got a sample of the Nuxe Multipurpose Dry oil valued at $7. This is a shimmery gold oil that can be applied to the skin, hair, and face. I won’t be applying this to my face but I will try it out on my body and hair. I am saving this for my Sister Getaway Vacation to Florida in July! Check it out HERE. See swatches below.
Another hair care item I received was the OGX Orchid Oil valued at $8. This is a lightweight spray that helps protect and nourish color treated hair. You can also use it if you don’t have color treated hair such as myself. This stuff smells delicious and the bottle is super pretty. I have so many leave in hair products that I will be passing this along to someone who has color treated hair. Check it out HERE.

The first item I received was a full size of the Eyeko Fat Eye Stick in Satin which retails for about $7. This eye shadow stick is super pigmented and has a metallic pewter sheen. It is so richly pigmented and the formula is extra creamy and doesn’t tug on the eyelid. I like to wear this either super saturated all over my lid for an intense metallic look or smoked out for a soft sparkle. See swatch below. Check it out HERE.
The next item I received was a sample of the Tarteist Lip Paint in the color Delish from Tarte. This is a smooth mousse like liquid lipstick that is long lasting and transfer proof. The color is a beautiful deep mauve nude that would look great on all skin tones. The formula is super lightweight and not drying at all. I think I might pick up some more colors! See swatch below. Next I pulled out a Beau Gachis Tapered Blending Brush that retails for about $12.00. I LOVE this brush! It is the perfect size to get right in the crease and blend out shadows. The next item I received was the Pur Cosmetics Disappearing Ink 4-in-1 Concealer in the color Light. This concealer has a unique “Diamond Complex” that is supposed to reflect light away from imperfections and can be used under the eyes and on blemishes. Unfortunately I do not like this. The color is way to yellow tinted for me and didn’t do anything for my under eyes. I thought maybe the yellow would help diminish the dark circles but it didn’t cover anything and felt heavy. The final product I received was the First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Face Moisturizer. This is great for sensitive skin and is a more lightweight version of their Repair cream so it is perfect to wear during the day. I passed this along to my Mom as I already have a billion moisturizers I need to get through. She says she loves the formula and how hydrating but light it feels on the skin. Sephora: Glow Getters Items: 6
The fragrance I received this month was the Chloe Fleur De Parfum. I love this scent! It is super light, fresh, and clean and perfect for Spring! The top notes are rose petals followed by freesia, cherry blossoms, and soft woods. It lasts all day and doesn’t smell overpowering. Check it out HERE.
The next product I received was a sample of the Watts Up Highlighter from Benefit. This is a cream champagne colored highlighter that is perfect for the inner corner or to highlight the brow bone. I have used this many times before and am happy to have it back in my collection. My favorite way to wear it is blended out under the brow bone. It is super creamy and lasts all day long. I also received a sample of the Bobbi Brown Long Wear Cream to Shadow Stick in the Color Golden Pink. This is a BEAUTIFULLY pigmented metallic nude shade. I barely have to press the stick onto my lid and the color just melts right off. I like to either saturate the lid with this for a bold metallic look or blend it into the middle of a bronze smokey eye look. I can’t wait to check out more colors! See swatch below. The hair product I received this month was a travel size of the Living Proof Full Dry Volume Blast Spray. This is basically a volumizer, texturizer, and dry shampoo all in one! This adds instant volume without weighing my hair down. I used this on hair that I recently straightened and got a ton of compliments at work the next day about how full and luscious my hair looked. I received 2 face products this month with the first being the GlamGlow Glowstarter Mega Illuminating Moisturizer in the color Nude Glow. This is supposed to be good for all skin types and has skin care ingredients to hydrate and nourish the skin as well as give it a slight luminous glow. As an oily skinned girl I am a bit scared of this product. I hate putting products like this in my face because I don’t like all over shine. I prefer a matte face because I feel like illuminating products don’t mix well with my greasy skin. I am not sure if I will try this or if I will pass along. I did swatch it on the back of my hand and it gave a beautiful lit from within glow that didn’t look too crazy. I would recommend for normal to dry skin. Check it out HERE.
The final product I received was the Josie Maran Surreal Skin Argan Finishing Balm. This again is supposed to be good for all skin types and is supposed to be good fro dryness, large pores, and uneven texture. I have large pores and uneven texture so I am curious how it will be for that. This is an anti aging product and skin primer all in one. Again this product is supposed to add slight luminosity to the skin which scares me. Unfortunately I haven’t tried this yet as my sample came a bit dried out. Sephora is sending me a new one though. The little bit I did put on the back of my hand felt very smoothing and didn’t leave very much of a luminosity so I will try this once I receive my new one. Check it out HERE.
Overall this is probably my least favorite Play by Sephora. Mostly because I am an oily skinned girl and don’t really like to glow. Next we got a deluxe size sample of the naked Cosmetics HD Finishing Banana Powder. This powder has a subtle yellow tone to help color correct under the eyes. I use it to set my concealer and it helps diminish the under eyes and bring brightness to the area. The powder is also super fine and smooth. The next item I pulled out was the full sized BellaPierre Cosmetics Volumelash Waterproof Mascara which retails for $20.00. This mascara is supposed to separate each lash while providing length. Sephora: 6 deluxe sized samples
The first item I got was the Too Faced Lip Injection Glossy in Milkshake. This is a nude tinted plumping lip gloss that leave the lip suck shiny and full. The color is on the more caramel nude side where as I would have liked more pink nude for my skin tone but I can still wear it. I have the clear version of this and I love it! The formula is super long lasting and does have plumping effects. I am not a fan of the scent though. It has a strong medicine/cinnamon scent but that goes away once applied. Check it out HERE.
The next item I received was the Sephora Collection Lashcraft Length and Volume mascara in Noir. This has a unique paddle like wand unlike anything I have ever seen! This is supposed to define and volumize lashes and is infused with nylon to keep lashes separate but full of volume. I am really picky when it comes to mascara formulas and their wands. I really like this one! The nylon keeps my lashes soft and they don’t feel hard or like they will break off! I also really enjoy the paddle wand. I recommend checking this out. Check it out HERE.
The second lip product we received was the Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Quench Lip Rescue in the color Nude. First off the packaging is so cute! It is a light pink cardboard tube covered in seashells. The formula on this is amazing and long lasting! It leaves the most beautiful/natural nude color on the lips and also leaves behind major shine! When I wear this my lips look and feel super full, plump, healthy and moisturized. I can’t get enough of it! It is also vegan which is great for my vegan ladies. I want to pick up all the shades! Next I pulled out the Orgins GinZing refreshing eye cream. I love using eye cream to help wake my eyes up and prevent future wrinkles or at least prevent my eyes from aging quicker then they will. This formula contains caffeine, ginseng, magnolia extract, and natural optic brighteners to depuff the eyes and make them look wide awake. I like this because it isn’t too heavy or greasy. It can be used both day and night which is great and doesn’t make my under eye concealer crease or move around. Check it out HERE.
The fragrance this month is Prada Candy. This has a warm, spicy, sweet scent that is perfect for the Spring/Summer. I actually really enjoy this fragrance and have been thinking about buying it! I might ask the hubby for it for my birthday. I recommend giving it a sniff! Check it out HERE.
The final item I got was the Clinique Pep Start Hydroblur Moisturizer. This is a moisturizer and primer in 1 and is perfect for oily and combo skin. This provides a smoothing matte finish that instantly blurs any lines or pores on your face. It is oil free and is supposed to help control oil for up to 8 hours. When I read this I instantly thought I had found a holy grail product for me! I do really enjoy this. It makes my make go on super smooth and it does blur my pores a bit. I also noticed my skin doesn’t get as oily as quick when I wear it. The only thing I wish it had was SPF since I always wear that everyday. I am really thinking about picking up the full size of this. Check it out HERE.

February BoxyCharm Unboxing + Reivew| Over $155 value!

The first item I pulled out was RealHer Moisturizing Lipstick valued at $20. This is a light nudeish pink color that would be great for spring. I haven’t tried this all day on my lips just yet but the 2 times I put it on my lips to test the color I could see every line and crack! It didn’t seem very moisturizing either. The packaging is cool but also a bit bulky for my taste. I am hoping that a good scrub before applying this will help it look more smooth and even. Check it out HERE.
Next I received 2 Makeup Geek shadows valued at $6 each in the colors Cinderella and Crème Brule. Crème Brule is a beautiful brown/orange matte color that is perfect all over the lid as a base or blended into the crease. Cinderella is a beautiful light champagne pink shimmer that I like to pat onto the center of my lid. Both are great everyday colors and the formulas are long lasting. Check them out HERE.
Since the Makeup Geek shadows need somewhere to be stored Boxycharm sent us a custom small Z Pallete valued at $14! This palette has the black and white logo of Boxycharm and can hold approx 9 Makeup Geek sized shadows. I think it is awesome that Boxycharm included this. I own 1 Z palette but I like how this one is small and compact and perfect for travel. Check it out HERE.
The high value item this month was the Dr. Brandt Micodermabrasion scrub valued at $79. This has a nice lemon scent and the exfoliating beads are so small and smooth they leave my skin feeling soft and supple. Boxycharm is amazing when it comes to the value of their boxes and this is no exception. Dr. Brandt products are pricey but super high quality! Check it out HERE.
The final item(s) I got were the OMNIA Royal eyekit valued at $29.98. This is a double pack of high quality makeup brushes. The gold shadow brush is made of natural bristles while the rose gold smudger brush is made of synthetic bristles. Both made my Makeup Geek shadows go on great and felt really nice on the lids. The brushes also have a nice weight to them and the metallic finish of the handles is gorgeous! Check it out HERE.

New Spring Wet n Wild Photofocus Collection+ Liquid Catsuit Lipstick Review!

Wet N Wild has released a few new products for spring that others have been raving about so I wanted to give them a try! They released a few new things from their Photofocus line such as a foundation, powder and concealer as well as some Liquid Lipsticks. Check out my video below for mini reviews of the products. I will talk about the face products first. My skin is oily and I have large pores on my cheeks. I get the most oil on my nose, cheeks and chin so I look for products that are long lasting, matte, medium-full coverage and just make my skin look smooth and perfect.
The new face products were tested under 7 light situations to help create a smooth flawless matte finish. The products contain light diffusing pigment to be “#selfieready” and aren’t supposed to give off a white cast. The first product I tried was the Photo Focus Foundation in the color Shell Ivory and this retails for about $5.99. It has a spatula applicator that helps me put product on the back of my hand. The texture is like a mixture of liquid and cream. It is on the more watery side. I tried applying this with a Beauty Blender and an Artis like brush. Both ways applied about the same. The product gives a light medium coverage and is semi build able. I can still see some discoloration peeking through but not much. This feels a bit heavy on the skin as the day goes on as well. I would also like to point out this smells exactly like wall paint. The smells is very strong and a little off putting. If you are sensitive to smell I wouldn’t recommend picking it up. After applying the foundation and before applying powder or concealer I took a picture with the flash on my camera. As you can see in the pictures below I had MAJOR flashback. This was super disappointing to me as they basically promise no flashback. I wouldn’t mind flash back or white cast since I rarely go anywhere and take flash pictures but the fact that they market it as no white cast made me super disappointed. As for the wear throughout the day I noticed on my cheeks as the day went on it got really ruddy looking and didn’t sit well on my face. Overall I personally wouldn’t recommend this product. I know people that have super oily skin and love it but not me. If you want an inexpensive drugstore foundation I would HIGHLY recommend the Elf Flawless finish foundation for $6.00. Next I used the PhotoFocus Pressed Powder in the shade Warm Light which retails for $4.99. This is a powder that helps diffuse the light, mattify skin and keeps it shine free all day. I have used this product over the PhotoFocus foundation and my go to Elf foundations and love it! It doesn’t give off much pigmentation when you first run your powder brush over it but after a couple swirls it picks it up. I like to dust this all over my face to set my makeup and pat it into my nose and cheeks where I get oily the quickest. This makes my pores INVISIBLE and leaves my skin with a smooth matte/satin finish. I have also noticed since using this I don’t get oily as quickly. I HIGHLY recommend giving this a try. The final face product I tried was the PhotoFocus Concealer in the shade Light Ivory which retails for $3.99. This is supposed to be a high coverage creamy concealer and I heard it is comparable to the NARS creamy concealer which I have never tried. I use this product on my blemishes and redness on my face as well as under my eyes. I wish they had a lighter shade for under my eyes to help brighten them. The lightest color is the perfect match for my skin and doesn’t look bad under my eyes but I would like a little brightness. Besides that this concealer is AMAZING! It is super creamy, high coverage and blends like a dream. It isn’t full coverage as a tiny bit of discoloration can show through but not much! It also doesn’t get cakey as the day goes on as I have found with other high coverage concealers. It is also super pigmented so a little goes a long way. It also works well under my eyes. It blends like a dream and provides the perfect coverage and doesn’t crease throughout the day! If you get 1 thing from this line I recommend the concealer. It is the best drugstore concealer or any concealer I have ever tried and the price is a STEAL. Check it out HERE.
Now on to the lips. I picked up 3 of the Megalast Liquid Catsuit Matte Lipsticks in the colors Give Me Mocha, Berry Recognize and Video Vixenwhich retail for $4.99. After filming I also picked up the colors Rebel Rose and Nice to Fuchsia. These promise a lightweight matte formula, that don’t dry out lips. The packaging is almost IDENTICAL to that of the Jeffree Star Liquid Lipsticks which is crazy. The want has a little divot in it that is perfect for getting that crisp line. The formula is very comfortable and long lasting through light eating and drinking. If you eat something that is oil based or super greasy it will take the color off but if you eat things that don’t brush against the lips this will last all day. The colors are super pigmented and comfortable! I did have a patchy problem with Video Vixen though. If you layer it over a lipliner it should help. I can’t wait for them to release more colors in the collection. I HIGHLY recommend you go pick them up. If I had to choose 1 color that I own as my favorite it would be Give Me Mocha. It is the perfect nude that could flatter so many skin tones. Check it out HERE.
Overall I think Wet N Wild are really stepping up their game. They have been releasing a ton of products lately at a low price point but are high quality! Did I mention they are vegan and cruelty free? I can’t wait to see everything that is coming out in the spring/summer months. Good thing their products don’t break the bank! The first items I received from Ipsy were 2 sheet masks from the Brand Sally’s Box which retail for $1.50 each. One of the things I love about Ipsy is that they always send out multiples of some products such as sheet masks and count it as 1 product! When ever I get sheet masks or eye masks from Ipsy there are usually multiples and different types for me to try. The 2 I got this month were Blueberry and Aloe masks. The blueberry is supposed to help firm and hydrate while the aloe soothes and hydrates. I used the Aloe one last night and loved that it didn’t slip down my face while wearing it and my face felt balanced and smooth when I woke up. Check them out HERE.
The next product I got was a full sized nail polish from Pretty Woman in “I Can’t Deal”. This is a grey nude shade and retails for $7.99. This shade is a great take on the nude/pastel nails that usually happen in the spring months. I have never had grey nails before but can’t wait to see what this shade looks like on! The next item I got was the full sized Coloured Raine Cosmetics Matte Lip Paint in the color Mars. This retails for $17 and is a beautiful dusty rose shade. This is the perfect deep nude color that can be worn either day or night. The formula is matte but not drying or sticky and stays on all day! I wore it all day at work and through lunch and I didn’t even need a touch up! I am really tempted to pick up more shades because they have such a wide variety of colors! They have a metallic red shade that I can’t get out of my mind! Check them out HERE.
Next I received a sample of the ModelCo blush in Peach Bellini. This is a beautiful peach blush with slight shimmer that gives cheeks a luminous glow without having to apply highlighter and blush. If you like a subtle glow I recommend giving this a try. It would also make a beautiful eye shadow! The formula is creamy and pigmented and doesn’t have leave powder every where. Check it out HERE.
The final product I received was a sample of the Smashbox Cosmetics Cameral Ready BB Cream in the Color Light. I don’t really wear BB creams because I find that they leave my skin greasy and with little to no coverage. If I want light coverage I just go bare faced most of the time. This was a tad too orange for my skin and after a couple hours it looked patchy and left my skin feeling dirty. I wouldn't recommend this. Check it out HERE.
BONUS: I did receive a FULL SIZED Limecrime Metallic Liquid Lipstick in the color Blondie after redeeming some of my Ipsy points. I love that you can earn points from reviewing products and people using your sign up link. I have gotten a ton of full sized goodies and this latest one is awesome.

The first item I got was Amore Pacific Color Control Compact Foundation which is a cushion foundation that is supposed to provide build able coverage, hydrates skin and protects with SPF. The samples Sephora sent out included 2 foundation shades and 1 mini sponge. Unfortunately the shades they sent me were way to dark. I am not sure why they sent me those. I tried to use the lightest of the too but it was very orange and streaky. I didn’t like the cushion that it came with and it seemed to take too long to apply. I am not sure that this formula would have worked for my oily skin either. Check it out HERE.
The fragrance this month was Love Relentlessly by Tory Burch. The notes in this are pink pepper, orris, and patchuli. This smells nice and fresh and light. Perfect for the upcoming spring months! I also saw a picture of the bottle and it is stunning! I probably won’t go out and buy this as the scent wasn’t very unique but I would love the bottle for my vanity. Check it out HERE.
Next I got a sample of the Tarte Frixxxtion Stick. I have been wanting to try this for so long and was so excited to see it! First of all the packaging is so cute! This is a twist up glue stick like cleanser that is a dark black with tiny microdermabrasion scrubs. You put it all over your face and cleanse. Perfect for traveling since it isn’t a liquid. I love the stick form it comes in and it leaves my skin feeling so smooth and clean. I recommend checking this out HERE.
The next product I received was the Clinique Almost Lipstick in Black Honey. Apparently this formula and color are a cult favorite and I can see why! First off the size of this sample is amazing! The color is the perfect wash of “just ate a Popsicle and now it stained my lips”. The color this product gives is a deeper “my lips but better color” with high shine and feels super moisturizing and nourishing. I couldn’t stop putting it on my lips! It also fades really well throughout the day to a nice stain. I want to buy these in every color! Check it out HERE.
The next product I pulled out was the Treatment Masque from Ouai. This is a hair mask to help repair breakage, and make hair stronger. I used it last night and the formula is a little watery for me. Usually hair masks are thick and creamy but this one almost had the watery consistency similar to watered down leave in conditioner. I didn’t see it do amazing things for my hair. It didn’t have a strong scent either. Check it out HERE.
The final product I received was the Youth to the People Prevention Cream. This is a night time moisturizer that uses kale, spinach, and hylauranic acid to deliver antioxidants to the skin and lightly hydrate it. This feels nice and lightweight on my skin which is great and makes my skin glow when I wake up! Check it out HERE.

The first product I received was Gorge Konjac Sponge worth $18. This is a natural sponge that you soak in water to soften then use to exfoliate the face. It can be used with or without a cleanser. It is made from 100% natural Konjac root and naturally balances the skin’s PH levels and is great for sensitive skin. I love the feeling of this on my skin and the fact that it has a string attached for easy storage in my shower. Check it out HERE.
The next product I got was the Adesse Ultra Suede Matte Top Coat worth $18. This is a top coat you paint on your nails to give them a smooth matte effect. I always like my nails to be as glossy and shiny as possible but I am excited that I received a matter top coat to play around with. I might do a matte accent nail or even try making all my nails matte! Check it out HERE.
Next up I received the So Susan Fan Brush worth $18.95. This fan brush is perfect for highlighting the face. The fan brush I previously owned was from Elf and super flimsy so I was excited to receive a brush I needed a new one of. I wish the bristles were a bit less flimsy though. Check it out HERE.
Next I got the Pur Mineral Glow Bronzer which retails for $25. This is a beautiful bronzer that I like to dust all over for a glow and even bring down my neck. It blend flawlessly into the face and I love the huge pan size! It has a slight shimmer in it but nothing crazy. I prefer bronzers with a slight shimmer/glow to them as this makes it look more natural and radiant. I HIGHLY recommend this. Check it out HERE.
The final product I received was the Vintage Highlighter Double worth $35. This is a dual highlighter with the colors Pink Quartz and Chocolate Diamond. The Chocolate Diamond shade is perfect to dust over the body over the Pur bronzer to add to your beachy glow. The Pink Quartz is a pretty everyday highlighter shade. I don’t use highlighter that often as I have oily skin but I am slowly building up the courage to use it. These pan sizes are huge as well. Such a great deal! Check it out HERE.
Overall I enjoyed my box. I got products such as the brush and highlighters that I wouldn’t normally use but am excited to try! I love the Bronzer and hope that it lasts me a long time. The first in the box was a Limited Edition ColourPop Lippie Stix in the color “Beautycon Pink” and retails for $5. ColourPop always seems to work with Beautycon so if you are a collector of their items I recommend signing up! This is a beautiful nude shade that could work on so many skin tones. I love the formula because the color is opaque with a bit of shine. The perfect “my lips but better” color for me. Check out ColourPop HERE.
We also got a full sized Rimmel London Lipstick which retails for $7. The colors they sent out can vary but the one I received was in 300 Listen Up. This is Rimmel’s new “The One” lipstick formula that is supposed to be pigmented, moisturizing and last all day! The color I got is a bright magenta berry so I will be rocking this in the Spring/Summer! I can’t wait to try out the formula! Check it out HERE.
The next item I received was Artist Couture Illuminati Highlighter that retails for $11. This is made by Angel Merino who actually curated the fall box, which is weird that this wasn’t in that one. It is a super bright highlighter that is in loose powder form so it can be used many different ways! It can be a highlighter, an eye shadow topper, an eye shadow if used wet, or mixed into lotion for a diffused body glow! I don’t highlight my face but I can’t wait to use this on the eyes or dusted over my chest and arms. Check it out HERE.
Next we got a sample of the Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Bronzer that retails for $7. This is a matte bronzer that can be used to contour the cheeks or as an eye shadow and it smells like chocolate! I don’t contour my face so I am probably passing this along. I have tried this product in the past and it is super smooth and provides a great contour shade. Check it out HERE.
As for the skincare items we got a full sized bottle of the Skinvolve Beauty Karate Cream which retails for $40! This cream has caffeine and argon oil in it to hydrate, tone and tighten the skin. Perfect for the New Year! It feels very lightweight on the skin and has a slight rose scent but nothing too heavy which I appreciate. Check it out HERE.
Next we got a sample of the Garnier Micellar Water which retails for $3.50. This is supposed to remove makeup and oil from the face without needing to rinse after. I am not a huge fan of Micellar waters because I feel like it takes longer to get all my makeup off and it does leave a residue on my face even when it says it doesn’t. I will keep this by my sink for days I am not wearing makeup and need a quick “rinse” but I won’t be buying this anytime soon. Check it out HERE.
Next in the box was the L’Oreal Paris Voluminous Feline Mascara which retails for $8. This mascara is L’Oreal’s newest formula and promises lifted and separated lashes for a nice “cat eye” effect. I love the packaging and can’t wait to try this out! The brush looks like it will capture every lash and separate them so I am crossing my fingers! Check it out HERE.
We also received the L’Oreal Paris Voluminous Primer which retails for $5. This is a white mascara primer that promises to increase volume and length with any mascara it is used with. I actually already own this and don’t see a huge difference when using it. I feel like a mascara should do that job all on its own without adding an extra step. I think mascara primers are very un-needed. Check it out HERE.
Next I got a Luxie Beauty Highlighting brush that retails for $24. I have so many Luxie brushes and love them all! This one is perfect to go with the highlighter that was sent. I love that they included a tool that can be used with another product. This could also be used for a soft contour or blush! I love it! Check it out HERE.
Next we got a sample of the Kate Somerville ExfoliKate exfoliating treatment which retails for $24. This is a professional strength exfoliating treatment that you leave on the skin for 2 minutes then wash off. This makes my skin super soft and smooth for the rest of the week! Since it is a professional strength exfoliator it is to be used only 1-2 times a week. If you have super sensitive skin I would patch test it first. Check it out HERE.
The final item in the box is a BioBelle Botanic Fiber Mask which retails for $5. This is supposed to be super hydrating and diminish the look of fine lines and wrinkles. I love trying out new face masks so I will either use this or share it with my Mom who also loves face masks. Check it out HERE.
Overall I LOVED everything this month. I loved that it was makeup and skincare heavy and we had over 7 FULL SIZED items! It think Beautycon did a great job with the variety included and colors they sent out. The first item I received was the Ofra Matallic Liquid Lipstick in the color Napa Valley which retails for $19.90. This is a beautiful deep violet purple color with a hint of metallic undertone. The packaging is luxurious looking and the smell is light. I prefer to use the Elf lip scrub that comes in a tube form that way I don’t have to use my fingers. The next item I pulled out was Butter London Nail Polish in the color Ruby Murray. and it retails for $15.00. This is a beautiful wine color that is perfect for the fall/winter time. The next item I got was IBY Eyeliner in the color Olive Pearl which retails for $14.00. This is a beautiful olive green color with a hint of metallic. I tried using this on my top lashes to create a cat eye and I did not like it. The formula is dry so I had to tug on my delicate eye area to get a smooth line. The final item I received was the Pure Cosmetics Buff Collection Palette which retails for $50.00! This is a gorgeous palette that is basically a knockoff of the Urban Decay Naked 3. The colors range from soft to deep rose gold hues. There are 3 matte shades and the rest range from shimmer to metallic shades. I don’t own the Naked 3 but judging by pictures this is very similar. The color payoff is amazing and while the shades are a bit powdery they blend out beautifully and last all day! I was super excited to get this and this makes the box super worth it! The first item is a sample of the REN Clear Skincare Glycol Lactic Radience Renewel Mask. This is an exfoliating mask that contains lactic acids and fruits. Next I received a NYX Prismatic Shadow in Bedroom Eyes. This shadow is super pigmented, buttery and beautiful! It is a satin finish that goes on super smooth and lasts all day. It can go from day to night and is stunning! I want to try out other colors. Get it HERE.
The final item I received was the Ciate Liquid Velvet Matte Lip Color in Pin Up. This is a purple/pink color that comes off darker then it seems in the tube. The first item was the Sephora Collection Cream Lip Stain in Always Red. This is a BEAUTIFUL rich red lip color. The stain is super pigmented, creamy, and long lasting. It is opaque in one coat and feels comfortable on the lips. Get it HERE.
The fragrance is Elizabeth and James in Nirvana Rose. This is a very rose heavy scent but also has a citrusy undertone. It isn't too heavy so it can be worn day or night. Get it HERE.
The next item I got was the Make Up Forever Step 1 Skin Equalizer Smoothing Primer. This is supposed to help makeup last longer, mattify skin and fill in pores. I used it today and didn't notice my skin not being any less oily. It did make my makeup go on smoother and my pores looked a tiny but smaller. Nothing dramatic. Get it HERE.
The next item I got was the Urban Decay All Nighter Long Lasting Makeup Setting Spray. I have always wanted to try a setting spray from Urban Decay. I recently bought the De-Slick spray but haven't used it yet. I can't wait to try this one because it is supposed to keep makeup from settling into fine lines and is good for all climates. Next I pulled out a sample of the Drybar Detox Dry Shampoo. I have gotten this in a Birchbox and I enjoy it. It leaves my hair feeling soft and smelling light and fresh. It does leave a tiny white cast on my hair but I just brush through it a couple times and it get it HERE.
The final item I recieved was a sample of the Lancome Hypnose Drama Instant Full Body Volume Mascara. This is supposed to give lashes a full effect This is apparently a cult favorite mascara and is supposed to work really well. I haven't had time to try this out yet but I can't wait.
