Ipsy

Theme: Rockstarlet| Bag: Navy Constalation Theme| Items: 4|
Full sized: 2

The first full sized item I received this month was aLuxie Rose Gold Small Duo Fiber Brush 524T and retails for $12.00. I love Luxie brushes and have gotten a handful in Ipsy bags. This brush is supposed to be used for blending foundations. The website says the duo fiber bristles are perfect for flawless blending. I personally think this feels too light and flimsy for foundation. I also prefer to use a beauty sponge. I think this would be good at blending out cream blushes or softening blushes that were put on with a heavy hand. It is super soft and the pink handles is cute. Next I received a baby sample of the Formula X nail polish in Huntress. This is a beautiful deep emerald green that can come off looking black. In the bottle it shows tiny gold flecks but I don’t see any of that once it is applied. I have this polish on my nails currently, check out the picture HERE, and love it! It is a very deep vampy color but I love that it is a deep green. Such an unexpected color! The bottle is smaller so you can get about 2-3 full uses out of it. The formula is great and super opaque. I only needed once coat! Get it HERE.

The next item I received was a sample of the Verb Ghost Oil. This is a lightweight oil that can be used in hair leaving strands strong, silky and frizz free. This smells great and I love that it is weightless and lightweight. I have yet to try this but I always love to put hair oil in my damp hair before blow-drying to help seal the cuticle and make my hair shiny without looking greasy. Get 10% off HERE with code “IPSY10.”

Next I pulled out a full sized ‘Tini Beauty Eyeshadow in the color Firestarter. This is a deep rust metallic shade that is super pigmented and buttery. It is like no other color that I have in my collection. This can be buffed into the crease with a gold shadow patted on top or put all over the lid for a fun rusty smokey eye look. It can also be applied wet or dry. I recommend this product and formula! Get 40% off orders of $20 or more + a Free eyeliner HERE with code “IPSYONFIRE.”

The final item I received was a sample of the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara. This is a cult favorite mascara that promises giant voluminous lashes that don’t flake all day. I know so many people that are obsessed with this mascara but I can’t seem to get no that boat. I don’t hate it but I also am not in love with it. I am a big volume freak when it comes to mascaras and I just feel like this one doesn’t give my lashes anything. I have very long sparse lashes so that might be why. I do like to layer this under another voluminous mascara and find that it helps the formula a little. The mascara on it’s own does stay on all day and doesn’t flake. Overall this bag was great. As always I loved the variety and items included. The bag was super cute and I can’t wait to put it in my current purse.

Play by Sephora

Theme: Best in Glow| Items: 6

The first item I received was the Laura Mercier Caviar Stick in Rose Gold. This eyeshadow stick is super pigmented, waterproof and transfer proof. It can be used blended out all over the lid or popped in the middle of an eye look for some shine! It can also be used under the brow bone as a highlight or on the inner corners for an extra pop! I actually already own this product in this color so I have put this in my HUGE HOLIDAY GIVEAWAY (Enter HERE). Get it HERE.

The next item was Pop by Stella McCartney fragrance. This is described as a bold floral scent with a hint of sandalwood. I like that is a floral but musky scent. It keeps it interesting and good for day or night. I would buy this fragrance for someone who is into scents who might not have something quite this unique in their collection. Get it HERE.

Next is another item I am including in my Giveaway. It is the Cover FX Illuminating Primer. This is a silicone free primer that illuminates the face and is great even for super sensitive skin types. It also doesn’t feel heavy under foundation but adds a nice lightweight and glowy base. This is perfect for dull skin! I did not try this because I have oily skin and don’t like to use any sort of illuminator on my face. I naturally get illuminated throughout the day so I prefer to use a mattifying primer. I do know that Cover FX is a great brand and I want to try their mattefying products. Get it HERE.

Next I got a sample of the Caudalie Vinosource Moisturizing Sorbet. This is a lightweight gel based moisturizer that reduces redness and skin congestion. I get super red cheeks and clogged pores so I am super excited to use this product. It feel nice and lightweight on my oily skin and I wake up with super soft supple skin. I also like to take this product down onto my neck to help soften my dry skin that comes in the colder months. Get it HERE.

Next I got a sample of the GlamGlow Youthmud Tinglexfoliate Treatment. This is a professional grade exfoliatingmask. I have used this many times before and really enjoy it. It gives you an intense burning and tingling sensations for the first 2-3 minutes so if you have sensitive skin I would not recommend. If you are sensitive to sensations on your face I would also not recommend. After the burning goes away it gets cool and drys. When your rinse it off you want to rinse in circular motions to really get the exfoliating benefits. Afterwards my skin feels amazing but not overly tight or dry. I would use this once a week or every other week because it is so intense. Bonus: it also tightens pores! Get it HERE.

The final product was a sample of the Sephora Collection Ultra Shine Lip Gel in the color Pin up Pink. This lip gloss has medium opacity, no stickiness and I love the wand! The wand is and hourglass shape that glides into the contours of your lips without being messy. I love having lipglosses on hand when wearing matte liquid lipsticks that can get too drying during the day. Instead of adding another layer of liquid lipstick that can sometimes cause it to flake or crack, I like to add a gloss to give it some moisture and shine. I am going to check out other colors of this product as well as other products with this wand. Get it HERE.

Overall this bag was OK. I say that only because I am giving away 2 of the 6 items. I wish there was an option for oily skin girls to choose one of the mattifying products for Cover FX. Other than that Sephora obviously didn’t know I already owned the Laura Mercier product so I am not too mad about that. I liked everything else but the sizes were a it small. I know Sephora products area at a higher price but I wish the samples were a bit bigger or even some were deluxe or travel sized.
